StoryCatcher® for iOS is a fun and simple tool to create and share video stories with.

You become the documentarian of your friends, family, and heck, even strangers by effortlessly building video stories. Choose themes, design titles, capture video, add screen text, and import photos! Once all your elements are in place, your very own movie is crafted into an amazing and shareable time capsule.

6 simple modules to help you create Collections

We’ve done all we can to make StoryCatcher® a simple tool to help you preserve the stories that matter to you most.

Share your videos privately or publicly, it’s up to you!

We never do any data collection. Your stories belong to you. You decide how, when, and where they are shared.

Mod.13.1 Add Story

As an option, you may record a quick introduction to your story. This clip is meant to be short. You do not have the ability to add photos or screen text to the optional intro clip.

To record an intro clip, tap the record intro circle and choose an option:

camera roll takes you to videos stored on your iOS device’s camera roll.

Tap new recording to activate the video camera on your device and film your intro clip.

Recommend: record all your story clips outside the app and pull them in using the camera roll button.

Tap the icon above or tap Mod.3 Intro Clip Video to view this module’s video.

Mod.13.2 Play All

Tap Story Title and the keyboard will pop up so you can create a title for your story. You may either tap in the words or select the microphone to utilize the voice to text feature. Do the same for the Story Subtitle.

If you skip this step, the app will apply a generic title and subtitle for you. You can go back and change or update either of these fields at any time.

Tap the icon above or tap Mod.2 Title Card Text to view this module’s video.

Mod.13.3 Share All

We made sure to give you options to suit your privacy concerns. These are your stories, you choose who sees them and where.

For best results, be sure you’re connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi before uploading a single story or a collection of stories.

When you’re satisfied with the build of your story, tap share from inside the record story interface. A new screen appears with the sharing options. Choose one.

No matter which share option you select, the video needs to be “rendered” in order to play outside of the app; in essence the photos, captions, title card art, and video clips will be stitched together into a single video file. Be patient—this might take some time, depending on how long your story is.

Every video will be rendered at the devices highest quality setting, unless you choose otherwise. I always use the high quality option as it produces a full HD movie. The medium quality option will create a smaller file and will view ok on most phones, but not so great on screens much larger.

Tap the icon above or tap Mod.11 Share Story to view this module’s video.

Mod.13.4 Delete All

A story can be deleted by tapping a story icon from the home screen. Once inside the Collections Container, select delete all in the upper right of the screen. StoryCatcher® will ask you if you’re sure you want to do this. Select yes or no.

To delete a single story in a Collection, tap the story icon you wish to delete and then select delete from the pop up menu.

To delete all the stories in a Collection, tap delete all in the upper right of the screen. StoryCatcher® will ask if you’re sure you want to do this. Choose carefully! All the Collection data will be erased once you confirm this action.

Tap the icon above or tap Mod.12 Delete Story to view this module’s video.

Mod.13.5 Rearrange Stories

You have the option to play Intro Music at the start of your video when the title card is displayed. You may toggle the intro music on or off by tapping those words. This toggle is located on the record story interface, directly under Interview tips.

Tap the icon above or tap Mod.9 Intro Music to view this module’s video.

Mod.13.6 Rename Collection

To preview how things are coming along, tap play. Your photos, captions, titles are all put together.

From here, you might deiced to adjust things. If you want to change the order of your photos or captions, simply go back to that area from the record story user interface and make your adjustments.

Same goes for adjusting the trim on the front and back ends of your video clips. Simply tap the record intro or record story icon and the options will appear.

Tap the icon above or tap Mod.10 Preview Story to view this module’s video.

Learning Modules

Stories can be captured individually or shared in a group as a Collection.

You might capture a series of recordings with someone speaking to various prompts from the Interview Tips. Or, let’s say you’re at an event and want to collect short stories and memories from the guests who are there.

Keepsake Videos

You might want to stitch together some “shout out” videos at a wedding or for a loved ones’ birthday.

Documentaries

With some planning, you could even create an hour long documentary using this feature and export in full 1920×1080 HD!
